At a time when mobile phones and other GPS-based devices can track our exact position and calculate the most efficient route to our destination, the aim of this piece was to encourage heads-up environmental exploration.

GetLost! is a physical device, resembling a compass, to which the user can dictate the amount of time they want to walk for. The system automatically generates and guides the user through a random path that starts and finishes at the same point.

Instead of providing voice instruction or map/location feedback, all indications are condensed into the directional needle of the compass. This enables users to relax and enjoy the ride, knowing that they will return to the starting point within the time they selected. GetLost! can be used not only for exploration, but also as a tool for medication.
